As a freshman at senior high school, finding solutions to teenage problems and being responsible for myself isn’t a small plate of dish. The first week made me confused with confusing choices.
作为一名高中新生，寻找青少年问题的解决方式并为自己负责并非小菜一碟。第一周那些令人迷惑的选择让我感到困惑。
First, I had to register for suitable courses. After skimming the titles and topic sentences on posters, I predicted course content in advance but wondered which one I should choose: psychology, biology or advanced literature? My adviser recommended that I should sign up for photography and calligraphy because I aim to become an editor when I graduate and I’m already fluent in English.
首先，我必须注册合适的课程。快速浏览海报上的标题和主题句后，我提前预测了一下课程内容，但还是不知道应该选择哪一门，是心理学，生物学还是高等文学？我的导师建议我报名摄影和书法，因为我的目标是毕业后当编辑，并且我的英语已经很流畅了。
I had to choose extra-curricular activities, too. I’m not sure if I prefer practicing dancing movements in a ballet club to learning survival skills from experts in the youth adventure camp, so I tried out for the debate team. At last, I quit making the team which is obviously unsuitable for me and joined a volunteer club instead. At the weekends, we help clean up a soup kitchen called “Greenhouse”.
我还必须选择课外活动。比起在青年冒险营向专家学习生存技能，我不确定自己是否更喜欢在芭蕾舞团练习舞蹈动作。因此我参加了辩论队的选拔。最后我放弃了加入明显不适合我的辩论队，而是加入了志愿者社团。在周末，我们帮忙打扫一家叫做“温室”的食品救济站。
Actually, focusing on studies after being attracted to extra-curricular activities is also a challenge, and it is not unusual for teenagers of my generation to be addicted to the Internet, so I have to take responsibility for my own behaviour like adults and make a workable schedule.
说实话，在被课外活动吸引后，专注于学习也是一项挑战。并且我们这代青少年往往对因特网上瘾。因此我必须像成年人那样为自己的行为负责并制定可行的日程表。
选背：It’s reported that millions of teenagers from shanty town drop out of school every year, since they have to work like adults. Never confuse luck with gift, and you’ll be grateful for and make the most of the opportunity to get a good education. Studying hard isn’t always fun, but whenever I’m facing a difficulty, I always tell myself, “Don’t ever quit.”
据报道，每年有几百万来自贫民窟的青少年辍学，因为他们必须像成年人一样工作。不要混淆了运气和天赋，然后你才会感激并充分利用接受良好教育的机会。努力学习并不总是那么有趣，但每当我遇到困难，我总是告诉我自己：“永远不要放弃。”
