No 12 Celebrate Festivals Joyfully 欢度佳节
Festivals, which reflect people’s wishes, beliefs, faiths and spirit of sharing joy, have a wide range of origins, ranging from religions to famous figures. All over the world, after all the crops have been gathered in, grateful people joyfully celebrate harvest festivals. Despite unique charms, these agricultural festivals have some in common after all.节日反映了人们的愿望、信念、信仰和分享快乐的精神。从宗教到著名人物，它们有范围广泛的起源。在所有庄稼被收割完后，全世界感激的人们快乐地庆祝丰收节。尽管魅力各异，这些农业节日到底还有些共同之处。
Falling on the 4th Thursday of November, Thanksgiving Day features a feast composed of pumpkin pie, pudding, mashed potatoes and roast turkey. To show respect and gratitude to God, people decorate church halls with cherry branches and sing carols. To be frank, I once figured they were observing Christmas and even wished others Merry Christmas. Except for this horrible moment, I was pleased to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and fireworks going off throughout the night.感恩节定在十一月的第四个周四，其特色是一场由南瓜派、布丁、捣土豆泥和烤火鸡组成的盛宴。为表示对上帝的尊敬和感恩，人们用樱桃树的枝条装饰教堂并唱颂歌。说实话，我曾以为他们是在庆祝圣诞节，甚至还祝别人圣诞快乐。除了这槽糕的时刻，我很愉快的享受轻松的氛围以及整夜燃放的烟花。
After doing my hair and make-up, I set off for Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to deliver a brief congratulation speech as the best man of a wedding. There I ate hot pot in a Mongolian tent and experienced the Naadam Festival represented by three events: horse racing, wrestling, and archery. I absolutely enjoyed the opening ceremony, where wrestlers with eagle’s strength and grace marched along grassland while the audience dressed in fancy robes clapped.在做了头发化了妆后，我动身前往内蒙古自治区，我要去一场婚礼上以伴郎的身份发表一个简短的祝贺演讲。在那里，我在一顶蒙古帐篷里吃了火锅，还体验了以赛马、摔跤和射箭三个项目为代表的那达慕大会。我非常喜欢大会的开幕式：有着雄鹰般力量和优雅的摔跤手们沿着草地游行，而身着华丽长袍的观众们（为他们）鼓掌。

On the Lunar New Year’s Eve, people prefer getting red envelopes on social media apps to lighting firecrackers to drive away the evil spirits. With businesses taking advantage of celebration occasions to commercialise related items, not only the samba costumes of Rio Carnival but also the riddle lanterns of Chinese Lantern Festival have become commercial. 如今，尽管在节日中扮演重要角色，一些典型习俗正因为商业化而消失。在除夕夜（农历新年前夕），比起燃放鞭炮驱邪，人们更喜欢在社交媒体应用上收红包。随着商家利用节庆场合商业化相关物品，不管是里约狂欢节的桑巴舞戏服还是中国元宵节的灯谜灯笼，都变得商业化了。
