No 32 Time Travel 时间旅行
In 2050, with the division between humans and robots becoming more blurred, advanced robots seem more like humans than machines. Some science fiction writers even declare that robots will be superior to us and take over. Typically, whoever is charged with a crime should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise, so I have a strong urge to know what will happen in the future.

It happened that my niece was elected chairwoman of a company testing out time machine. During an appointment with her, I sat myself in the leather seat of the Time Machine. Gripping the starting lever on the main panel, I pushed it forwards an inch then immediately backwards again.The laboratory went hazy around me. As I travelled at maximum pace, the walls fell away like puffs of smoke and night came as if the lamp suspended from the ceiling were being turned out. With a sudden jolt, the machine was flipped on its side. I was stunned to find myself in the year of 2100.

In a venue where saleswomen and salesmen were introducing the the pros and cons of various robots, I learned at random several robots alien to me. Driving robots with calculating ability have exploded. They don’t need salary and bonus, so taxi fare went down sharply. Robot-cops with integrity are treated with dignity, whereas many policemen were dismissed for inaction. Domestic robots can do most labour, like removing mud from a handkerchief, climbing up ladder to fetch 50 grams of flour or cut your nails on a weekly basis.

After this time travel, I currently regard the statements of sci-fi authors as absurd overstatements. These ridiculous rumors conflict with evolution theory, for which they should feel guilty.
